Whilst Nanotecture is exploring a range of potential applications for its nanostructured materials, the current focus is on energy efficiency and energy conservation in the automotive/transportation and power generation industries, where Nanotecture is seeking to develop key applications particularly for its asymmetric hybrid capacitor design
In the automotive and transportation industry Nanotecture is working on the design of supercapaciors for ‘no idle’ and ‘cold start’ applications in trucks as well as pursuing applications associated with effective electrical energy recovery and storage in hybrid electrical vehicles.
The company is also exploring the application of its battery and supercapacitor designs in uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), energy recovery systems (e.g. regenerative braking in vehicles and heavy lifting equipment) and energy storage applications related to the management and performance of the electric utility grid.
