Latest News: Nanotecture announced 10th March 2008 that it has formed an Alliance with the University of Texas at Arlington (Automation & Robotics Research Institute) (ARRI) and Bennington Microtechnology Centre (BMC) in Vermont, USA who are proposing to manufacture samples of Nanotecture’s Microbattery for customer sampling in a range of power devices by the third quarter of 2008. Nanotecture has developed and patented a unique low profile Microbattery using its Nanoporous materials (see Microbattery) and is actively engaged with the teams at ARRI & BMC to utilise their packaging, robotics, and microtechnology expertise to provide batch processing techniques and samples of the device. Martin Vanhinsbergh (Manufacturing Manager, Nanotecture) said “Nanotecture believes it has selected two organisations with significant expertise in automation and micro technology who can provide the support and engineering interface Nanotecture needs for the scale up of its sample requirement”. Dr. Harry Stephanou, Director of ARRI and Chairman of BMC said “Nanotecture has developed a paradigm-shifting disruptively innovative technology that will open the door to countless new applications. We are delighted and honoured to be allied with them”. Early customer traction and time to market are essential to the success of the microbattery which is being perceived in the market place as an enabling technology for high power applications in portable handheld equipment such as mobile phones. Delivery of the samples will provide the gateway for customers to test drive these unique devices. - end - See a clip of a model car powered by Nanotecture : Run clip (WAV, 1 MB)> |
